imsuperb.com member runs 200-mile relay race from madison to chicago
"The MC 200 is a relay race that starts in Madison through Milwaukee and finishes in Chicago. There were around 125 teams completed in the relay.
My Team name: Sticky Buns 1
Team Size: 12 people
I ran 3 legs: Friday: 3.48 miles at 3:30pm
Saturday: 7.55 miles at 1:00 a.m.
Saturday (again): 8.56 miles at 10:30 am
19.59 Miles total!
Total Distance: 202.7 miles
Completed in: 30 Hours
I was listed as a sub for the race because my friend was having a nagging running issue and didn’t know if she could complete her runs. Then two days before the race, I got a call that another person on her team was injured and they needed another runner. Luckily since I was already training for a ½ marathon coming up a few weeks later, I was able to run in his spot.
I had never run more than 13.1 miles before, or ran at night with a headlamp so this was a great experience. My favorite part during the race was running in the middle of the night with a headlamp on in the rain! One thing that also stood out was the sleeping conditions; we had to sleep when our other van of runners in our team ran. So we grabbed a quick catnap on a high school lawn and a 3-hour nap in a church. I think that is the only time they encourage sleeping at church.
Thanks to all my training with imsuperb.com, your (Nick Lynch) boot camps and my running program I knew that I would be able to complete the run. It’s pretty funny when I look back to when I was in high school and I hated to run the mile, now I just ran in a 200-mile relay race. I am looking forward to next year’s race!
I have always been an active person and worked out regularly. I never really saw the results until I started to train with Nick Lynch and the workouts of imsuperb.com. This website and our training sessions pushed me and I could see progress so that kept me going. The boot camps were something that I looked forward to every week. I just remember that in my first boot camp class that you said “If you feel like you are going to give up or drop, just step outside and take a quick walk around the lap”. It’s amazing how much that quick little walk helps. After the beach boot camp, I got in my stick shift car to drive home and my legs were shaking so bad from the workout that I had trouble shifting gears in my car. I can’t remember the last time my legs got such a hard work out!
I hope that everything is going great for IMSuperb.com. I think it’s a great website and the workouts really do work. Let me know when this is posted because I will send a link to my hip doctor in Minnesota to have him check it out. If I can run distance with an artificial hip socket, anyone can!
Thanks Nick and imsuperb.com"
