Dairy burning fat.

Diary products to burn fat.
By Nick Lynch S.S.C, C.F.T.

The topic of diary is one of the most debated in our time. Eat the full fat or skim milk? Get low fat yogurt or cream line, full fat? For most of us the decision is hands down, low fat or fat free. We are told from a young age to avoid saturated fat, cholesterol and high fat foods. There are a few healthy and positive factors we are not informed of when dealing with fats and cholesterol; actually there are several healthy nutrients you can only get from full fat dairy products that will burn fat and lower cholesterol. What????? How can fat burn fat and cholesterol regulate cholesterol??? This may sound crazy but the information I am going to list here has been around before fats were labeled bad. Lets now take a trip into the world of healthy and un-healthy dairy products.

Lets start with un-healthy dairy products; we must first take a look at the environment these animals grow up in. The cows have minimal to no sunlight, they are injected with growth hormones and/or anti-biotics, living conditions are crammed, crowded and dirty, which is why they need anti-biotics in the first place. The food consumed by these cows is nothing close to grass, rather they are fed grain which is made up of legumes, soy, corn and many other ingredients which are not sustainable for their normal life expectancy. In fact, 90% of cows in the US are grain fed without even the slightest chance of sunshine. Dairy cows fed grain live an average of 1.8 lactations (about 3 years) where as a cow fed grass with sunlight lives an average of 8-10 lactations (10-12 years). When slaughtered only 5% of these grain fed cow’s liver can be salvaged as 95% have been exhausted and wasted on digesting the high protein feed and synthetic vitamins. The cows consuming grass are living 400% longer than the confined, grain fed cows that make up such a large part of our dairy consumption. Make the switch to grass fed, free-range dairy products and you can start to reap the benefits. What benefits besides living longer you may be wondering?

Lets talk about good dairy products and learn about how to lower your fat with fat, keep your cholesterol in check with cholesterol and really start to benefit from a natural healthfully balanced food; dairy from healthy cows! When cows are fed grass with lots of sunlight they start to produce CLA, Activator X, vitamin A & D and proper endocrine function. CLA is a fat that burns fat and promotes muscle and helps fight cancerous cells. Activator X is a fat-soluble vitamin in structure and will give proper absorption of minerals to your bones, muscles and body. Vitamin A is used to turn cholesterol into steroid producing cholesterol, which in return will help with the production of fat/cholesterol lowering hormones, building of muscle and anti-aging. Vitamin D helps lower your blood pressure and protects against spasms that lead to heart attacks. Vit. D also is used to absorb calcium, help prevent arrhythmias and promotes a healthy nervous system. Vit. A & D, Activator X and CLA are all fat soluble and highly produced with grass fed diary products. You will need to get the full fat version of whatever dairy product you consume to absorb these precious nutrients. So find the grass fed, free range and organic if available for reasons stated above and also to support ethical treatment of life.

We now know that eating fats are good when they come from a good source. We also know that most of the dairy products out there are un-healthy. This is good that we are now aware of what to look for; grass fed, free range and if necessary, organic. Eating these kinds of fats are higher in saturated fat and cholesterol but it’s the good kind of saturated fat and cholesterol. Make sure you maintain physical activity levels and eventually increase them from your renewed energy. Fat is your friend when from a friendly source, so start reading the labels of what you are buying. If there is no grass-fed listed on the label the product may not be grass-fed. Go to the health food stores and see what you can find. Find local companies that make yogurt, cheese, milk etc. and if their label does not specify, call them and ask what their cows are fed.
