Extraordinary Energy
Extraordinary Energy
By Nick Lynch S.S.C, C.F.T.
Today almost everywhere we turn there are energy enhancing products. Drinks, pills, shots, patch’s and now even alcohol mixed with energy drinks. As we all know feeling energetic is fun and super productive. The question is how do we have the kind of energy that is advertised to us without jeopardizing our overall well-being? Exercise, sleep, manage stress, indulge in your passions/interests and of course eat well. In this article I will list some recipes for energy drinks. Yes, they have calories and fat in them, yes your body needs calories and fat to function. If you want to have headaches, extreme drops in energy, trouble sleeping, ADD, excess weight issues, loss of bone density, aches and pains as well as mood swings then I warn you to not follow the recipes listed below. Fact is our bodies need calories and healthy fats to function properly.
Energy enhancing drugs drama. When I say drugs this includes energy drinks, shots, pills etc. Drugs? Really? Yes, the products out there that we consume so much of are nothing close to natural. They contain copious amounts of migraine, ADD and thyroid dysfunction (to name a few side effects) ingredients such as sucralose (artificial sweetener), artificial coloring, caffeine, MSG (citric acid, natural flavorings), bleached & refined salt (sodium citrate or sodium chloride), benzoic acid (artificial preservative) and a large number of non-digestible synthetic vitamins. The end result of consuming these stimulants? Stressing your adrenal glands, bodies ability to produce natural hormones and eventually the “crash.” The “crash” is when your body has given up because it has just produced a marathon’s worth of energy in one hour without actually running anything besides out.
(Energy drink is working it's course)
So how am I supposed to get a pick up without drinking coffee, some tall cans of excitement and super pills? Answer: by consuming foods that will stimulate energy production on a manageable level without exhausting your body. The foods listed below naturally contain hormones for energy, production, sleep, sex and life. These recipes are quick to make, tasty, good for the environment and even better for your body. By keeping your adrenal glands healthy, energy production will stay consistent through out the day without the dramatic spikes and dips. Enjoy.
