A treat
Most of us love chocolate milk. But many choclate milks are strange mixtures of high fructose corn syrup, food dye red #40, just a little bit of milk and other things which I, even with my bachelor of science in nutrtion and food science, cannot identify. How about taking matters into your own hands with a homemade choclate milk? The main advantage of this is you get to control the sweetner being put in. This is key; you can put in an unrefined, nutrient-containig sugars. It is nearly impossible to find a chcolate milk with unrefined sugars. You can make up for it like this:
2 cups milk
4 tablespoons plain, baker's cocoa powder
4 tablespoons unrefined sweetner such as maple syrup, raw honey, Rapadura or Sucanat brand whole cane sugars, palm sugar or agave nectar/syrup
Put it in a blender and mix it up. Gives two servings eight ounces each.
