30 seconds recipe
30 seconds recipe
By Nick Lynch S.S.C, C.F.T
This recipe is loaded with fat burning fats, healthy sugars from natural sources, high in protein and will fill you up while increasing energy levels. The idea of this snack/meal is to hold you over for a couple hours if you will not have time to sit down and eat something or are in a rush out the door and need to make something to bring with. What you need to make this recipe work is this:
3 tablespoons Coconut milk
6-8 oz Whole milk
1/2 scoop Protein powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup (or you can use honey, in this case it will be a 1 minute recipe because you will need to use a blender.)
Pour the milk's into a mason jar, add protein then the maple syrup, close the lid on the jar, shake until the maple syrup and protein powder dissolve into the milk and no longer sit at the bottom of the container. Now you can drink and enjoy the taste as well as the health benefits of this power house meal/drink.
Lactose intolerant? Drink raw milk. No raw milk available or you don't feel comfortable? Use extra coconut milk. How much extra? 4 oz of coconut milk and mix this with 6 oz of water in place of the cows milk then follow the above directions. Or you can use goats milk if that sits better with you.
Protein powder: Jarrow Formulas makes a great and affordable whey protein powder. Get the plain flavor as you will be sweetening your mixtures with fruit, honey or maple syrups.
Coconut Milk: Native Forest or Thai Kitchen make good coconut milks, these will be found in a can and make sure you get the full fat version to get all those medium chain triglycerides (fat burning fat's)
Maple Syrup: Grade B is a little thicker and tends to cost less. Make sure the ingredients read "maple syrup," and nothing else. If you use honey, buy local and raw, the gooier the better.
Milk: Find local milk to your area and if the label does not say organic or grass fed ask someone who works at the store if they know, if not call the farm. In the winter cows do not produce as much CLA's (fat burning fat) so you may want to use less milk and more coconut milk. Half milk and half coconut milk.
